Nice long weekend!

Fourth of July weekend was great. Headed down to Chautauqua early Friday evening. Nope no sign of Bucky. Stopped at Quality on Rte. 324 to pick up some food for the weekend. Got to the cottage around 9:00 or so. Quinn ran around until 10 and we got settled in.

Saturday we went to breakfast and then to Walmart. Jay forgot T-shirts so we bought some for him. Yes, I went to Walmart. I had no choice. They changed the old one into a super center. I was amazed. First, it was like being in Tops and Kmart built together. Plus it was actually the cleanest Walmart I have ever been in, so I really didn’t mind being there. We headed back to the cottage and cleaned up for the fam for when they showed up, which was about 1:30 or so. Spent the rest of the day relaxing, playing Kan Jam, and chasing Quinn! Headed to the best Mexican Restaurant around 7 called La Hacienda. They have the best salsa you’ve ever had. Plus they are fast. They came out and sang their little Mexican birthday song to Papa, complete with a sombrero and a fried ice cream dessert. Back to the cottage for a bonfire and marshmallows!

Sunday was on and off rain. Every time we uncovered the boat it would rain so we would have to cover it back off. Finally we said screw it, and went out anyways. Took the jet ski out and went swimming and tubing! Came back and had birthday dinner then went home.

Monday I had to work yuck. Jay stayed home with Quinn and took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Later we went to his brothers house for a little party and some fireworks. The cops came right as we were done. Nice timing. They just gave us a warning.

Tuesday was the Grand Island Parade, where Quinn was taped by Channel 4. He was later on the 12, 6, and 11 news spots only for about 3 seconds each time! Off to Fort Niagara for an all day picnic and swimming with Jay’s family. Fireworks at Fantasy Island to complete our weekend! There is just something nostalgic about the fireworks display every year! Quinn loved them too, he clapped and said “wasstha” (what’s that) the whole time!

You think you meant La Herradura for that Mexican restaurant w/ the good salsa *grins* We go there at least once a month.
