I can't believe you don't like pets.

I don't. Every time I have this conversation with someone, and I break the news to them that I am just not a pet person, they just look at me with this blank stare as if to say that they can't believe I feel that way. How could you not like a dog or cat? How could you not want something in between your feet when you walk or there everytime you turn around? How could you not want something to lick your face when you sleep? How could you not want to clean up drool, food, chewed shoes, hair? How could you not want the thousands of dollars in pet food and vet bills.

I do not like animals. There I've said it. It is the first step in my twelve step program of admitting I have a problem. When people say they do not care for kids, the reaction is not as harsh.

I especially do not like the things people do to their pets either. Buy them presents, have entire stores dedicated to them (which you can take them too), dress them, or give them their own bedroom.

I do have a ten month old. He is very much like a pet. He follows me around the house, he drools, he makes noise, he needs to go to the bathroom with assistance and needs to be fed. There are entire stores dedicated to his every need and he does have his own bedroom. He actually has two rooms. His bedroom and his playroom. I can even take him everywhere with me.

I am sorry pet lovers....I'm just not in the club.

Car is done.

Car is done. Finally. Had to replace an air flow sensor and the lack of fluids was causing the gears to slip.

Happy New Year

Car is STILL in the shop. Told me I needed a part but not sure what part I need. What? Also my fluids were low in my engine. Um, you just replaced the engine, shouldn't you have filled it properly?

Baby has yet another ear infection. One more and he goes to an ENT.

Cards at my house tonight. Great. Hubby has the itch to break out his new table that I bought him for Christmas.

Two parties Saturday and baby is sleeping at grandma's.

Almost back to normal...

Heat is back on. Needed a valve or something (guy talk).

Baby's hand is healing nicely.

Got to sleep in my own house and use my own toothbrush last night.

Car is back in the shop and hopefully won't cost me anything. Seeing as the problem happened the day I picked it up.

Bank account is almost normal, Jay gets paid on Friday.

December 2005 you won't be missed....

Grades!

Grades came on Friday. I got a 3.67 this semester! My highest yet. Now I will able to graduate in Phi Theta Kappa!!! Pretty excited about that!!!

Bad monday...

Got home from the fam's house on Christmas, and had no heat. Luckily it was warmer out. So all three of us huddled in our bed because I wasn't paying triple time for a Christmas call. Yesterday I placed the call, but told them to come today. Only $39 for today instead of $89 for yesterday.

Then baby burned his hand on the back up electric heater we put in the kitchen. He is fast...

Slept at my father in laws last night, who lives a mile from us. Found out this morning that I used someone else's toothbrush. It looked just like mine. Same one. Same color. Thought my hubby packed it. Found out when he asked me this morning if I brought a toothbrush. Gross. I can't stop thinking about it. Feel like I'm going to puke.

Got the car back Thursday. New engine. Now the car is popping out of 5th gear when I drive and I have to hold it. Plus the engine light came on. Great. Now they are going to take me for all I'm worth.

Bank account bounced because of the check I wrote to Hyundai. Who cashs a check in a day? That's the point of writing a check because you have at least 4 days of time in there. Was trying to postpone it until I got paid today and I thought with the Holiday, that would definately buy me some time.

Did I say that right?

It is so funny hearing customers from out of town trying to say Cheektowaga, Tonawanda, and Olean. I know I'd do the same thing if I wasn't from here.

New favorite

New chocolate peanut butter chex mix....guess the diet is screwed...

No it's seriously only 150 calories a serving and there is 7 in a bag....I've had about 4, yup really screwed...

First of all it has the best food combination known to man, chocolate and peanut butter, and then there are pretzels and honey roasted peanuts! yum!!!

Opinion on Tookie Williams

Read this - Watching Tookie Williams die...

I'm not going to give you my opinion on the death penalty. I'm not going to give my opinion on what it must have been like to watch a man die knowing what he put your loved one through. I'm not even going to give my opinion on gangs or crime or drugs or anything like that.

I am however going to give my opinion on the fact that it took a nurse 10 minutes to find a vein in his arm for the IV needle. At this stage of the game, I'm sorry but knowing you are taking a persons life, is locating a vein necessarly important?

Hyundai update...

Car needs a new engine. Covered under warranty. Still can not believe that this happened 3 weeks and 4 thousand miles before it expired. Should have it by Thursday or Friday.

Baby's almost walking...

My baby's not a baby anymore :(

He took his first step this weekend. Then he chickened out and started crawling. He'll be doing it in no time!!

Car update

They called on Saturday to tell me they needed my maintenance history for the last 12 months in order for the problem to be resolved under warranty. Hyundai needs proof that I maintain my car.

Car history? Well my oil runs out and the light comes on at the 2500 mile mark between oil changes. But this has been something that I've been telling Hyundai for 4 years now and they can't ever find the problem, and now that I may need a new engine because of it they want proof that I've been maintaining it. It's their problem and has been. I faxed over the history I got from Valvoline off of their website, which if you didn't know is very quick and easy, and sent it over to them. Hopefully they can figure this out and I don't have to pay for it.

In line at McDonald's I wondered...

How do they get the Ketchup into those tiny packets?

Why is it that the person in such a big hurry and cuts you off, takes forever to order?

and...

(nothing to do with that, but....)

What's the deal with the term...greatest thing since sliced bread? I don't think it's so great...

Is this week over yet?

This is the worst week. After I posted the other day, I went home after school and my christmas tree fell down. We got it back up, but it is now tied to the table. Pretty ghetto....

My project isn't done, and I hope I can get it done today before 6 o'clock.

My uncle died last night. He was 74 with down syndrome. He was a very sweet man. Was diagnosed with Alstimers recently and last week had Pneumonia. It was just his time.

Great day...

Nothing to do at work. Need to find a new position that will use my skills to the fullest potential.

The Hyundai broke down. Now I am without a car for (at max) 3 days. Now what? At least my warranty is still in effect until the 1st of the year.

So that's that....not in a good mood right now.

1st Christmas weekend....

Every year my father's family has their family Christmas get together at Letchworth once a year at the beginning of December. Now that my Dad and my grandpa are gone, and my one uncle is in California, things are pretty quiet. Just a bunch of screaming kids. Quinn had fun though. Biggest event was trying to keep him away from the fireplace. No big deal though, had enough sitters!

I never understood why half the people in my family feel the need to explain why they got the presents they did for you. Every single one. I am appreciative of the fact they even got us anything and certainly wouldn't ask why they decided to get what they did. So just leave it alone and accept my thank yous....

Later in the day I took Quinn to his first birthday party. A boy in his class turned one on the 2nd and had an Elmo party for all of his family and friends! Well this kids mother couldn't rave enough about our kids being best buds in school, but she didn't know my name. She called me Megan twice. The first time she did, it kind of threw me so I didn't respond and had to catch Quinn from going into another room....then later she asked "Hey Megan, Do you like a lot of frosting or a little [on your cake]?" I was like, "a little and it's Rachele"...how embarrassing for her to not know her son's 'best friend's' mother's name. Oh well, I guess we weren't meant to be....

We also got our Christmas tree this weekend while in Letchworth. While driving home down 20A through Wales Center, there goes the tree....in the middle of the road...luckily no cars were behind us. Only one stopped later to see if we needed help. This is how much room there is in a Grand Caravan has....Two front passengers, a baby in a car seat, all of baby's stuff crammed between the door and the seats, and a 5 ft christmas tree stuffed into the back. Now that's a minivan!

Busy...

Very busy next two weeks. I have two projects due for Advertising. A commercial and a journal of ads. Then a debate to put together for Marketing. Plus having to Christmas shop and attend birthday parties the next two weekends. Plus living my normal hectic life. This should be an intersting month.
