Larry David? Let me introduce myself....

I have the strangest irony. Everyday something ironic happens to me. This is what happened so far this week….

- Tuesday during the locking of the keys in the car fiasco, one of my classmates told me to call the Cheektowaga Police to come and open my car. I told him I know they wouldn’t do it, and he assured me they would, but to appease him, I called. They said no like I figured, unless there was a child locked inside. AAA came and went, and when I was heading back into the school who passes by me? A Cheektowaga Cop. I have never, in the 4 years I’ve been there seen a cop in that parking lot until that night.
- Wednesday at the photo studio at JC Penney’s there was a little 4 month old baby named Lena there getting her pictures done right before Quinn. I have never heard that name before. Yesterday on my way home from school I decided to take a different way home and sure enough I see Lena St. off of Harlem.
- Wednesday at work I was looking through classmates prompted from the email in my inbox that a new person joined. I click to see who and on the list I see Joe. I met Joe’s cousin. Who was that again? Oh yes, Debbie I used to work with. I haven’t seen her in awhile, I wonder how she is. Who shows up at my work yesterday to update our stock? Debbie. She has never come in here. This was her first time with the guy who normally comes in.

I know they may seem minute, or I’m way over observant, but this stuff happens to me all of the time. Too bad I couldn’t trip over that million dollars I was just thinking about.

When did I become such a weenie?

My friend calls and asks "Are we doing anything for your birthday Saturday?". I say, let me talk to Jay and I'll call you back. Ask Jay? What am I 12? My mom is a sure thing for a babysitter. She loves spending every minute she can with Quinn. Just called her back, and said I'm a big wus and told her McMonkeez Saturday night.....been a long time since I hit the night life!!!!

Bulk does not mean free

I have seen people help themselve to the bulk section before. Take a piece here and there of hard candy or peanuts, but I have never seen anyone ever do this in the bakery.

Sunday I was at Tops on Grand Island, and like most people I have a "course" for my shopping experience. I met up with this older guy on my course in the baby food aisle. As I was standing there deciding on my baby's entrees for the week, he called his wife for approval on the variety pack of baby foods.

We then progressed to the cereal, then to the yogurt and milk and down the frozen food aisle. Never speaking a word to each other, we were still shopping friends because we were still buying similar things.

We get to the bakery which is in the far back corner. I check to see what muffins I can buy for the week for quick breakfasts before work. He grabs a few things, bagels and doughnuts and a Boston Cream for the remainder of the shopping trip. I couldn't believe this. I have never been able to bring myself to even sneak an M&M and this guy is walking around eating a doughnut like it's normal. I then ditched my theiving shopping friend to head to the cashier's, leaving him to drown in his custard.....

Grammer lesson

What do these [ ] mean?

I see them every now and then and have no idea what class I slept through to miss that.

EX. [He] went to the store.
I am going to get gas [and] go to the bank.
[W]hy don't I get this?

Is there any reason why I don't know this? Is it something only English professors or writers know about or am I the only one on the planet that doesn't know what this means?

At this point in my life I feel I am probably the only person that doesn't know what it means, so that is why I'm too embarrassed to ask my teacher. I really should know this by now, right?

Have you ever seen on television, people fainting when they see famous people or hear something really tragic or really good. Then they are being fanned with a piece of paper or something like that.

Have you ever once seen that in real life. If people are fainting it is because there is something wrong and you should probably call 911....

Hyundai Accent vs. all Lexus

Northtown Auto does not treat each customer the same. My car was in Hyundai’s shop for a month and did I get a rental from them? NO. I had to bum rides, borrow people’s cars, or get up at the butt crack of dawn to get to work by 7:15 so my husband can get to work at 7:30. I even had to get shuttled back and forth from the Northtown Shuttle and sit in 20 minutes of awkward silence with some guy I don’t even know. I did get a rental offer, and it was “Sure you can have a rental, go to Enterprise down the street and get our deal of $35 per day”.

Now fast forward to today. One of our Lexus owner’s in the company must have had their car in the shop, because to my dismay, I see when I pull in the parking lot a black Lexus with the words on the back “Northtown Lexus Courtesy Car”.

I’m buying a Lexus next time.

When you work at a restaurant it is customary and part of the health regulations to wear gloves while cooking foods. It is, however, not customary, against health regulations, and just plain pointless if you wear them while handling the money. Then returning to the food.

You bastard....

I am going to invent a universal language that you can use to talk with your headlights. This way we can send swear words and messages to the driver that just friggin cut you off.....

sibling (co-worker) rivalry

Remember what your siblings used to do to you? Or what you used to do with your siblings? Wouldn’t it be funny if it was perfectly acceptable behavior in the workplace? Here are the new rules that would apply if it was.

· Stake your claim…lick the last doughnut. Maybe add a na, na, na, na after for full effect.
· Poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke – does that bother you? To the person sitting next to you.
· Freeze their proposals.
· Hide behind the copy machine, then boo – haha gotcha…
· Run to the boss crying so you’ll get the other person in trouble before they knew it was you.
· Break all of the pencils in their office and say “Not me”

Any others?

Food

Why, if they know how to make food fat free, do they even bother making food with fat?
Why are red peppers more classier than green peppers?
Wouldn't it be great if they made all chocolate fat free? No worries about keeping track of how many pieces you had that day.

Been a while

What a week. Got my car completely finished now. My breaks were down to the metal just weeks after passing my inspection. They didn't want to warn me about that at Hyundai. I don't know how I passed the inspection. With that and the break light they never changed, I think I just paid them to slap on the sticker.

Baby got tubes Thursday. He had gotten a dual infection and was bumped up to emergency status. They took him into this little room where they put him to sleep. He is such a trooper. Came out of the surgery and we were home an hour later. What a wonderful weekend of sleep. Oh sleep how I've missed you.

They've been giving me more things to do here at work so I've been pretty busy. I've had this project to correct some things so that is taking up most of my time.

More later...I'm going home!
